Cashias asked us to create content that would stand out and go after the student market specifically. With this in mind, we recognised that as we emerged from Level 4 Lockdown, there was an opportunity to encourage people to put away their phones, stop being anti-social and enjoy each other’s company again.
In order to authentically capture the student market, we engaged a group of students from the University of Canterbury to form the talent in the creative. Because Social Drink Co. were looking to tap into the Gen Z market, we relished the opportunity to create an aesthetic that was trending with Gen Z.

We leant into the 90’s VHS look for the ‘hype’ part of the video and the custom composition “Let’s Get Social” music track was composed and recorded by Antony & Mates to push the call to action to socalise with people. The original composition also enabled us to use a style of music that would resonate with Social Drink Co’s target market, whilst clearly reflecting their messaging.
