CAMPAIGN DESIGN + ANIMATION
THE GUT FOUNDATION
Over two years, A&M worked with The Gut Foundation to create campaigns generating interest and awareness for World Microbiome Day. Microbiome day is the international day of awareness for people to learn and acknowledge the role microbes play in our body.
The Gut Foundation recognised that a campaign for children and families would be a great way to educate people about gut health and healthy eating from a young age. The younger target audience meant we could take the seriousness out of this topic, creating content that is accessible, fun and digestible (no apologies for the pun!).
Accessible, fun and digestible.
To make bacteria more friendly, we designed characters which were personifications of microbes that exist in our bodies. For each of these characters, we created a look, name and personality and an animated video.
In order to capture the young target audience, we also engaged a current popular children’s television show presenter to record voiceovers for our animated content.

The campaign also had a competition element where we encouraged kids to draw their own microbe character, with the winning character to be brought alive for next years campaign.
