meet your microbes
Margaret approached us to help the Gut Foundation to create interest and brand awareness for World Microbiome Day. Microbiome day is the international day of awareness for people to learn and acknowledge the role microbes play in our body. The team at the Gut Foundation recognised that educating children would be an awesome way to take the seriousness out of a topic like gut health and make it more accessible, fun and digestible (no apologies for the pun!).
Accessible, fun and digestible.

The team created 3 characters based on 3 microbes that exist in our bodies. For each of these characters, we created a look, name and personality, and an animated video.
This video introduced them and their role in gut health. The target audience for the video were parents and their children who were in primary and intermediate school. In order to capture this audience, we engaged a current popular children’s television show presenter to record the voiceover for the video.

The campaign also had a competition element where we encouraged parents to get their children to draw their own microbe character, with the winning character to be brought alive for next years campaign.
